Exploring Charlotte
A local TikTok account uncovering Charlotte's hidden gems, viral spots, and small businesses worth knowing.
In the summer of 2025, I was new to Charlotte, NC and started @laylaexploringclt as a way to get out of the house and explore new spots. I shared taste tests, reviews, and vlogs highlighting local businesses and events. Mostly family-owned small spots that deserved more attention.
I explored record shops, museums, restaurants, bookstores, boutiques, beauty spots, and events. Each video highlighted the small business owner and their story, not just the place itself.
I did this because I know what it's like to be a storefront owner and entrepreneur. This account let me mix my love of exploring new spots with social media and actually make an impact for the people behind the businesses.
